Klingbeil Skates Now Located in Manhattan

KLINGBEIL SHOE LABS Re-Established In The ICONIC NEW YORK CITY

New York City (PRWEB) March 21, 2012

Klingbeil Shoe Labs, designer and manufacturer of custom skating boots, has relocated from Queens to Manhattan to continue its 60-year tradition in skating boot design and manufacturing. Now with a new factory and showroom space in New York City, the company is now producing skating boots at a faster rate. However, they will stay true to the tradition of having artisans hand-making each pair.

Customers who have visited the new workshop were fascinated with its authenticity. The well-worn workrooms from the past are replaced by the state of the art facilities. This now makes production more efficient, communication more effective, and issues are resolved faster.

Klingbeil boots have been worn by some of the world’s best figure skaters, including Olympic gold medalists Sarah Hughes, Oksana Baiul and Dorothy Hamill; Olympic silver medalist Sasha Cohen and Olympic bronze medalist Timothy Goebel.

Each pair of Klingbeil boots is custom designed and manufactured for each skater and the new facility will allow us to satisfy the high demand. In addition Klingbeil will now be able to design and manufacture more diverse product line, including boots for beginner and intermediate skaters, as well as custom shoes and orthopedics.

Founded by Bill Klingbeil in 1950, the boot manufacturer has always been a family business, which continues with Bill’s son, Don, who began working for the company at age 14. Don is fascinated with the way everything has turned out. “I have never been in this business for the fame that dies within weeks, nor am I in this business for the money. You can’t take that when you leave. Rather, I want to be remembered for building great boots.

Good-byes are not for legends. The Klingbeil name shall survive. For over 100 years, the name Klingbeil has meant the finest quality in handmade and handcrafted boots

Jackson Skates

Jackson Support Rating System

Jackson is pleased to introduce the Jackson Support Rating System, to assist skaters and coaches in the selection of the boot or skate most appropriate for their requirements. The system utilizes a numeric/descriptive support rating on all products in the Jackson line.

Ultimate:     95-100     Premium:    85-94
Strong:        70-84       Firm:            50-69
Moderate:    30-49       Light:            0-29

The Elite Supreme 3900 boot will be available in 4 different Support Levels: 95-Ultimate, 90-Premium, 80-Strong and 69-Firm.
As a result, skaters that require less support can now access all of the features and benefits of the Elite Supreme boot, but with a support package appropriate to their level of skating. Most manufacturers only offer top of the line models in a very stiff configuration. It didn’t seem to make sense that other skaters would be denied the most advanced technology.

Ask Mr. Edge Book

After more than 12 years of painstaking research and information gathering, Mr. Edge has put all the pieces of the puzzle together in one easy to read and understand book on figure skates and injury prevention. Ask Mr. Edge explains and provides solutions to common blade, boot, and sharpening problems and their relationship to each other. Furthermore, the book describes many of the common injuries to the ankle, foot, hips, knees, and lower back that competitive skaters are prone too throughout their career and how they can be reduced or avoided altogether.

One stanch supporter of the research efforts that have been put into writing “Ask Mr. Edge”  is Dr. Robert A. Weil, D.P.M. aka The Sports Doctor; personal podiatrist to current Olympic Gold Medalist Evan Lysacek.  “Whether you are the parent of a young serious skater, or beginner, a skating coach or trainer, have a history of foot problems, or just looking for answers to help improve your overall skating performance….. “Ask Mr. Edge” is for you” states Dr. Weil.

The skating instructor is the first person to whom the skater or skating parents turn to for advice before purchasing a good pair of figure skates, and the information contained in “Ask Mr. Edge” gives both coaches and skaters all that and more. The book will be available both in print and electronically at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, the iBookstore, and other outlets beginning in 2012.

The “Crescent”, which is designed for the beginning freestyle skater retails at a great low price of only $100.
