Don Korte
The World’s #1 Figure Skating Website for Michigan Figure Skater’s
If you live and skate in Michigan, ever competed or tested in Michigan, or are just curious about the figure skating scene in Michigan, then you must visit Michigan’s number one source:
Started some 20 or so years ago, Don Korte has used his skills and knowledge with computers in creating a website which tracks everything for figure skaters in Michigan. From competition dates to individual test results, and much, much more, Don is “The Man” when it comes to posting any and all information about what goes on with figure skating in Michigan.
Don is a very humble, kind hearted and devoted man, not only to his family, but to skaters and the sport of figure skating. It doesn’t take much to come to know that Don puts 110% into maintaining that his site is accurate and contains as much information as possible. His passion for skating is such that he not only skates himself, but also judges most all if not all Michigan Skating Competitions.
Aside from skating, Don is also an avid photographer and has numerous pictures pasted on his website: http://www.sk8stuff.com
On Oct 8 2011 Lauren Shuff of Michigan’s Midland FSC reached the summit of Figure Skating’s test structure. Passing the Senior Freeskating test and the 15 tests that must precede it is a tremendously difficult task that requires years and years of dedicated work, and a great deal of skill. Only a small percentage of skaters can claim this great prize, and very few among the general public can claim any other accomplishment of comparable effort.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Lauren since she started skating and it was a great thrill for me to see them both reach this milestone. Congratulations to Lauren on this special day!!!!
On August 4 2011 Graham Emberton of Michigan’s Coliseum FSC reached the summit of Figure Skating’s test structure. On March 30 2011 Lindsay Burdan of Pennsylvania’s Pittsburgh FSC reached the summit of Figure Skating’s test structure. In order to help pay for his site, Don sells books and other materials as well through his website. He is also not opposed to receiving donations.
If you are a skater at large and would like to see how the stats stack up, then visit: http://www.sk8stuff.com and enjoy……..
